Liberalism 2 Essay, Research Paper
New world order and one world religion are issues that most Americans have probably never even given much thought to it. I believe these are two issues that will drastically shape our future to include the National Military Strategy. I know my views are that of the minority. My opinions are based on the Holy Scriptures of the King James 1611 Authorized Version and what they say about the future and this world we live in. You ask why am I bringing up all of this? Because my peers are the future of the United States and what I see is most assuredly making our forefathers turn in their grave. Also, much of what I am writing will have direct impact on what I believe the Purple military will look like in the future.
The United States, as a whole, has become a generation of shallow thinking, liberal, TV watching, religious society. The desire for education has long left our culture. School is now viewed as a way to increase your salary vice a way to broaden your intellect. Why bother when you can get the cliff notes? Liberalism is another area that has taken a severe nose dive in our generation. Don t ask, don t tell, or that s his private life! If you ask me, a persons actions and thoughts speak clearly of their character. One way character is being shaped in people today is through Hollywood. Televisions and movies brought a sewer pipe of filth straight into our homes. Hollywood promotes the single working mother, adulterous affairs, and of course bloody violence. Pick up and newspaper and you can read actual stories that reflect what we see on a screen. TV s have become baby sitters for parents who don t have time for their children. It has also become the tried and true way for families to spend their quality time together. We should change the name of Hollywood to UnHolyWood! The title is more fitting.
The character of our civilization is getting revealed through the work ethics and religious activities of our society. We need to be watchful with our financial dealings because many people are out to profit at the expense of others. It is very sad when a person can t even afford a meal to eat, yet they spend their last dollar on a lottery ticket.
Even worse is the Burger King Christianity that has become so prevalent in our churches. What else would you expect in the U.S…HAVE IT YOUR WAY. If professing Christians would just get back to the basics and read their Bibles, they could easily see what God commands of his servants. Frank McCourt stated in the December 1998 issue of Life magazine that ninety-six percent of Americans believe in God, seventy-two percent believe in Heaven, and fifty-six percent believe in Hell. With over fifty percent of Americans believing in all three; why then have we turned from being a God-fearing nation? Because the Bible tells me it will happen.
This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, Traitors,, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than than lovers of God; Having a form of godliness, but denying the power hereof: from such turn away. (II Timothy 3:1-5 KJV 1611)
This brings me to the meat of my argument. Samuel Hunting stated that … conflicts between groups in different civilizations will be more frequent, more sustained and more violent than conflicts between groups in the same civilization; violent conflicts between groups in different civilizations are the most likely and most dangerous source of escalation that could lead to global wars. Huntington suggests that it is in the best interest of the West to promote greater cooperation and unity within its own civilization to prevent escalation of local-civilization conflicts. He also points out, in loose terms, that the revival of religion is in large part of a response to an identity crisis. The Pope himself promotes a re-evangalization of the West in order to recall Christian Europe and America back to its Christian roots. What better way to create a sense of unity and harmony than to a have a common one world religion. The makings of this movement have been in the works since 1990 when the Promise Keepers (PK) were founded. The whole basis behind the Promise Keepers movement is to have religious unity which is absolutely forbidden in God s word. The bible says Be ye not equally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkeness? (II Corin. 6:14 KJV 1611), And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkeness, but rather reprove them (Eph. 5:11). Promise number six of the Promise Keepers states that a PK is committed to reaching beyond racial and denominational barriers to demonstrate the power of biblical unity. How can a Baptist who believes in salvation through Christ alone join hands with a Catholic who adds sacraments and good works as a requirement for salvation?
The foundation is being built towards a false sense of peace and harmony among Nations. The American public will willingly accept the movements towards this goal of harmony because the don t read history or their Bible (II Tim. 4:3-4). One of the outcomes will be a smaller national defense under one branch of service. This will take place because of a false sense of security. In general, most Americans act on emotion vice their heart, intellect, or dusty Bible. This will impact the views Americans have on our country and how it should function. What American s desire has and will continue to change throughout time.
